ABOUT THE TRACK: The 'Beast of the East' was lengthened to a 3/8-miler prior to the start of the 2008 season with its first two Super Series shows held on the former quarter-mile bullring that has also hosted 34 Mr. DIRTcar 358-Modified Championship Series events (3rd-most in DIRTcar history). Dale Planck established a new one-lap standard of 14.422 sec. (93.607 mph) in July of '08 with the new track configuration. Pat O'Brien (1 win) was recently crowned DIRTcar 358-Modified points champion at BOS, snapping a string of four straight titles garnered by his younger brother Danny O'Brien who currently tops the standings in search of his first overall Mr. DIRTcar Championship in the Small-Block ranks.

PREVIOUS WINNERS: Brockville has hosted four Super DIRTcar Series shows, with the best in the business from both sides of the border capturing checkered flags. After starting 17th on the 30-car grid in 2006, All-time DIRTcar Northeast Big-Block feature winner Alan Johnson disposed of runner-up Billy Decker on lap 72 using his trademark move on the low side of the speedway, then took advantage of a lap 77 caution to move in on Pat O'Brien before ducking under on lap 89 to forge the final lead change. Local favorite O'Brien reversed the outcome in the '07 stop with a late-race pass of Tim Fuller to upset the invaders and score the popular victory while Decker led all but the opening three circuits to win in 2008. Last summer Brett Hearn led the entire distance ---extended to 102 laps due to a late caution--- and used his inaugural Big-Block tour triumph in the Thousand Islands as a springboard toward a record 7th overall Hoosier Tire-VP Racing Fuels Mr. DIRTcar Championship.
