OHSWEKEN SPEEDWAY: Season Championship Night Next Up at Ohsweken

By Tommy Goudge (August 31, 2010) – The twelfth round of Ohsweken Speedway's Friday Night Thunder hits the track this Friday, September 3.  This week's event is Season Championship night presented by the Rochester Americans hockey club, and features extra-distance features for the Corr/Pak Merchandising Sprint Cars, ESSO Thunder Stocks, and ESSO Mini Stocks, , plus Bombers, Vintage Cars, Kids Box Car Races, and Mechanics Races for Thunder Stocks and Mini Stocks!
 
Dave Dykstra of Port Colborne enjoys a seventy-two point lead over Campbellville's Kevin Job heading into the Corr/Pak Merchandising Sprint Car Season Championship.  Last week's feature winner Kyle Moffit of South Dayton, NY is third in the standings, followed by Alton's Keith Dempster, and Tom Huppunen of Fenwick.  Jamie Turner of Caistor Centre leads the Rookie of the Year standings, and now sits ninth overall after an eighth place finish last Friday. 
 
Jamie Cox of Cambridge is now twenty-six points ahead of Port Robinson driver Billy Bleich with just one race left to decide the ESSO Thunder Stock championship.  A trio of Caledonia drivers are third, fourth, and fifth in the standings – Ryan Dinning, Lee Winger, and Mike Thorne.  Ed McNamara of Sherkston is seventh overall and leads the Rookie of the Year chase by thirty-five points over Burford's Phil Nyssen.
 
Welland 's Trevor Goulding continues to lead the ESSO Mini Stock standings and finished fifth after starting sixteenth last Friday night.  Craig Erskine of Brantford finished fifth and sits fifty-five points behind.  Ohsweken's Steve Hess is third and got the feature win on Friday, followed by Mike Evers of Caledonia, and Brantford driver Kevin Hilborn.  Jake Brown of Brantford leads the Rookie of the Year standings, and sits tied for tenth in the overall standings with Mark Thorne.
 
Dundas driver Karl Sault has a fifty-two point lead in the Bomber standings over Friday night winner Jeremy Hughes of Burlington.  Hamilton drivers John Cote and Kacey Huffman are third and fourth, followed by Caledonia's Jesse McDonald.

Ohsweken Speedway's Friday Night Thunder returns this Friday, September 3 when the Rochester Americans hockey club presents Ohsweken Speedway Season Championship night.
