SCOTIA SPEEDWORLD: NASCAR Legend Ken Schrader to Join Pro Stocks for Season Finale

(Halifax, NS, August 31, 2010) NASCAR Superstar Ken Schrader will join a talented field of Pro Stock Tour drivers at Scotia Speedworld for the CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour Season Finale, the Parts for Trucks 200, on Saturday, September 11th. The NASCAR veteran will go to battle at the 3/10 mile oval located just outside of Halifax, NS in the # 10 Parts for Trucks sponsored Chevrolet out of the Steven Henderson shop in Truro, NS. Henderson fields the Dexter Construction / Municipal Contracting sponsored Chevrolet of current CARQUEST Pro Stock Tour Champion Shawn Turple. Tickets for the Parts for Trucks 200 are on sale now at all Ticket Atlantic Locations and will also be available at the gate on race day.

Ken Schrader, now 55, is a 30 year plus veteran on the NASCAR circuit (1975 – present). Over his career Schrader has collected a total 732 Cup starts and more than $30 million in earnings. He has four wins to his credit in the Sprint Cup ranks (Talladega, 1988; Charlotte 1989; Atlanta, 1991; Dover, 1991) as well as 64 top-five and 184 top-10 finishes. Schrader has also recently seen success in the Camping World Truck Series with 97 career starts, one win, 10 top –five and 35 top-ten finishes. Fans will have an opportunity to meet the NASCAR legend at the on track autograph session on Saturday afternoon following the Legends 50 lap feature. (Time and weather permitting)

Since he was a little boy growing up in Fenton, Mo. Schrader has found some of his greatest happiness driving in circles, and after 20 full seasons in NASCAR's elite series, Schrader still can't wait to put on his helmet, strap in his driver's seat and chase the checkered flag every Sunday afternoon or any other day of the week for that matter. It is that desire and dedication to drive that has earned Schrader the reputation around the garage as a true racer's racer. It's nothing for Schrader to run a couple of dirt races during the week, compete in a NASCAR series on the weekend, and then show up at another dirt track show on Monday night.

"I want to spend my time racing," Schrader said. "It's not only my job, but it's also my hobby. I love the time that I get to spend behind the wheel, and as long as I can, I'm going to race whenever I get the chance."

Admission for the Parts for Trucks 200 featuring Ken Schrader is $30.00 for adults; $5.00 for youth; pit admission is $35.00. Children 7 and under are admitted for free. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Pits are restricted to those 16 and older. Tickets are available in advance at all Ticket Atlantic outlets (Atlantic Superstores), by phone 902.451.1221 or http://www.ticketatlantic.com/. Tickets will also be available at the gate on race day.
