Stars and Cars under the Lights at Scotia Speedworld this Friday Night!

(Halifax, NS – June 23, 2011) There will be celebrities in the house this week at Scotia Speedworld! In addition to Weekly Racing Series action, some of your favorite media personalities will also be going head to head on the track in the second annual Media Race. That’s right, Metro’s media moguls will be let loose on the track for 12 laps in 4-cylinder Thunder and Lightning cars! Don’t miss JC Douglas, Denyse Sibley, Caroline Parker, Ron Kronstein and more as they pilot the cars for bragging rights, the coveted Media Race trophy and most importantly a cheque for his or her local charity of choice! The battle for media supremacy will happen this Friday night under the lights at Scotia Speedworld.

The Lumbermart Thunder Car drivers are kindly lending their cars to the media this week, however five other divisions of race cars will see action on the 3/10 mile oval including, the Hydraulics Plus Bandoleros, Lumbermart Lightning, Trucks, Coco Beach Legends and the Dartmouth Dodge Sportsman.

Gates open at 5:00 pm on Friday. Heat races to determine starting positions for each division get underway at 7:00pm with feature racing to follow immediately after. The much anticipated Media Race is slated to run following the Lumbermart Lightning Feature.
