NBIS: Weekend Preview

Fredericton, NB – Don’t you just wish you could be the lucky winner of the jackpot or an instant lottery? Well this weekend you can at NBIS. The Geary Lions Club has hoped on board again with the speedway to bring the fans the $10,000 Fan Giveaway. There’s no trick or any hard skill testing questions, all you need is a loonie to buy a 50/50 ticket and you could be walking away with both your pockets so full you’ll need an extra belt to hold your pants up.

This weekend’s event is the biggest off-track event NBIS will host this season. The $10,000 brings in enough fans to give up the Irving Oil 250 competition. “ It’s great publicity for Lions International and the local Geary Lions Club..” said NBIS Office Manager Miranda Carr “This organization comes out every week and parks the cars in the parking lot and then helps around the track whenever needed. They are a great organization!”

Although the focus is on the off-track event, on the track, fans will be treated to regular points racing in all divisions, including the Coast Tire Street Stocks, Martin’s Home Heating Sportsman, and CARQUEST Pro Stocks. NBIS is coming off one the most entertaining events of the young season as last weekend’s Coast Tire “Best of the Best” race proved to be one of the “Best of the best” in recent memory with Jody Harris taking the win in his first appearance of the season. Not to be outdone, the sportsman division saw Lonnie Sommerville take home this seasons 4th hat trick feature, finishing ahead of father Bill. The street stocks also provided some edge of the seat action with Rick Cashol winning with a daring and controversial manoeuvre in the closing laps. This weekend should provide just as much entertainment on the track.

NBIS has the Irving Oil 250 payout for drivers and several other big payouts throughout the season. However, the Geary Lions Club $10,000 Fan Giveaway was designed to give fans the opportunity to cash in on a big prize - it’s guaranteed to be much easier than driving a stock car and fending off feisty competitors. There isn’t any skill testing questions to rack your brain on, no strings attached, no conditions, and you don’t have to drive a stock car or lead a lap to win. To win a fan will simply buy a 50/50 ticket and wish for the rest of the night that it is the winning ticket. Spectators should get there on Saturday because while the 50/50 booth has enough tickets for everyone, you could be waiting awhile.
