NCTS: JACOMBS LOOKING FORWARD TO FIELDING ENTRY IN NEW SERIES

Hamilton, ON: Dave Jacombs is looking forward to fielding an entry in the 2007 NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. In a joint announcement yesterday NASCAR and Canadian Tire unveiled the preliminary plans for the new series which will replace the former CASCAR Super Series in 2007.

The CASCAR Super Series with founder Tony Novotny has been Canada's premier motorsports series for the past twenty five years, however over the last few seasons they have struggled and their growth was stagnant so this is great news for all Canadian racers and motorsports fans.

"It's the news we have been waiting to hear for over two years," stated an enthused Dave Jacombs. "Richard Buck from the NASCAR office has been travelling with us for two race seasons so we knew it was coming and now that it has finally happened we are thrilled to be able to race next year under the NASCAR banner with Canadian Tire as a title sponsor."

"This has been a transition year for Jacombs Racing, what with putting Robin Buck in the car at the road course venues and Patrick Carpentier and Andrew Ranger in the car for a couple of ovals races," said Jacombs. "We are trying to give value to our sponsors by generating more attention for our team. We are also talking with several drivers who are interested in getting behind the wheel of the #88 Jacombs Racing Taurus in 2007."

The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series in 2007 will consist of 10 - 12 races between May and October and they advise the schedule will be provided to us over the next couple of months but expect it to remain relatively unchanged from the 2006 CASCAR schedule.

The CASCAR Super Series attended eleven venues with the final being this weekend at Kawartha Speedway in Peterborough over the 2006 season, from Montreal to British Columbia including the Grand Prix of Trois Rivieres, the Grand Prix of Edmonton and the Grand Prix Montreal.
