(BOWMANVILLE, ON – June 12, 2010) – After finishing second twice during the opening round of the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship presented by Toyo Tires, Nick Wittmer moved up to the top step of the podium on Saturday at Mosport International Raceway.
Starting from the inside of the second row, the Lombardi Racing Honda driver spent the first half of the race behind polesitter Mathieu Audette before taking the lead and distancing himself from the rest of the field. By the time the chequered flag fell, Wittmer was clear of the second-place Audette Racing Acura RSX by 23.438 seconds.
The M&S Racing Acura CSX of Gary Kwok moved up seven positions to finish third in Super Touring. The fastest lap of the race (1:38.673) was turned in by Dave Ciekiewicz of Donington Wenzel Motorsports in a Subaru WRX.
In the Touring class, P.J. Groenke won from the third spot on the grid in a Mini Cooper fielded by Octane Motorsports, besting the Heron Motorsports Acura Type R of Nigel Heron by 2.462 seconds. The Touring points leader, Anthony Rapone of Durabond Racing, finished third after starting fifth.
The action at Mosport continues on Sunday, beginning with a final 30-minute warm-up session at 10:20 a.m. followed by a 30-minute feature race, scheduled to run from 3:30 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship Presented By Toyo Tires is Canada's Premiere Touring Car Series and features Canada's Best Drivers Racing Today's Hottest Touring Cars.
