LONDON, ON - Thank you to the 5,000+ fans who helped make Saturday June 5th an unforgettable night at Delaware Speedway, with the inaugural 2010 race in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series! Our congratulations once again to DJ Kennington for a spectacular win! Now we’ve got more great racing set for this Friday night, June 11th, at Delaware sponsored by Country Corners.
Can Steve Smith make it three wins in four races? We’ll find out when the two-time winner this season takes to the track alongside stiff competition in the Delaware Super Stocks division. Smith is tied with one-time 2010 winner Kris Lawrence in points standings, with Stephen Richmond just 5 points back for third.
Friday night’s action will also include POWERADE Modifieds and Demar Aggregates Trucks, the division whose last race was rained out just five laps in. Mother Nature (and Environment Canada!) has promised us a clear and dry night for June 11th.
Jamie Cox has a 3-point lead atop the POWERADE Modifieds class, ahead of Tyler Hendricks, with David McCullough another 3 points back in third place.
Jeff Showler is out front in Demar Aggregates Trucks standings. Michelle Korcina and Gary Adriaensen are tied at second.
The spectator gate opens at 6:00 pm on Friday June 11 and racing starts at 8!
Tickets are still available for Delaware Speedway’s Summer Showdown presented by APC, July 7th, featuring NASCAR’s Kyle Busch, David Reutimann and Regan Smith taking on hometrack favourites including Ron Sheridan and DJ Kennington on Delaware’s legendary half-mile track.
