THOROLD, ON - If you are a fan attending races at Merrittville Speedway – you know that every Saturday Night you can get your fill of DIRTcar sanctioned racing. Before or after the races you have to know too that you can get your fill of Gas … Diesel or Propane at Semenuk’s Esso – located just south of the Thorold track at the corner of Merrittville Highway and Hwy 20 at Turner’s Corners.
When you attend Saturday June 3rd’s Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series Program – you can also get your fill of autographs and driver cards and more in the Meridian Credit Union Family Autograph Night.
“Racing at Merrittville is quite a spectacle … when the green flags are flying and when we host our Family Autograph Nights,” relates (Merrittville GM) Erica Bicknell, “for the life long fan or the new one – seeing the front-stretch filled with race cars is quite a sight.”
In what is unique about racing and at the grass roots level in particular – Race Car Drivers are very approachable and enjoy meeting their fans and Merrittville’s talented field is no exception. Race fans will be let out onto the track through the Start-Finish Line Gate for autographs and photos and the motorsports meet and greet.
“The professionalism of our Race Teams is second to none,” adds Bicknell, “there isn’t one that doesn’t have their own cards to sign or some other item … they are all so proud of their cars and their sponsors.”
Two drivers that you will meet when the Grandstand Gates open at 5:30 are the Team Semenuk cars of recent feature winners – Mat Williamson (L. St. Amand Enterprises 358 Modified) and Graham MacKay (Hoosier Stock).
When the Meridian Credit Union Family Autograph Night takes to the track – Merrittville Speedway will orchestrate it’s set up right on the front-stretch to include your favorite drivers from Williamson’s and MacKay’s divisions in addition to the Original Pizza Logs DIRTcar Sportsman, J&S Heating and Air Conditioning Modified Lites and the Turn 4 Collision 4 Cylinders.
