NASCAR Canadian Tire Series TV sked announced... going 'live' at Montreal

DAYTONA BEACH, FL – Coming off a strong viewership audience in 2009, TSN again will be the television home to the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1. It is the fourth consecutive season for TSN, Canada's sports broadcast leader, to televise series events.

This season, TSN will join RDS, a French-language sister station to TSN primarily available in Quebec, in providing live coverage of the event at Montreal's Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Aug. 29. RDS has telecast this event live for each of the last three years as a precursor to the NASCAR Nationwide Series race later the same day at the legendary road course on Île Notre Dame.

The other 12 scheduled NASCAR Canadian Tire Series events in 2010 will have a one-hour race recap show telecast nationally on TSN and TSN HD on a tape-delayed basis. The shows are produced by James Robinson Associates Ltd. and will include race coverage, driver interviews and features.

"TSN is a terrific partner and a strong supporter of Canadian motorsports," said George Silbermann, NASCAR Managing Director of Racing Operations. "Thanks to their continuing efforts, racing fans will again get to see all the excitement and drama of the nation's top drivers competing in Canada's premier stock-car racing series."

TSN's NASCAR Canadian Tire Series coverage complements its full-season coverage of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR Nationwide Series events.

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is the top-rated motorsport series on Canadian television while the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series is the most-watched Canadian auto racing series. TSN has over nine million cable and satellite household subscribers which allow fans across the country to see some of the top future talent in NASCAR.

For the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series broadcasts on TSN, Dave Bradley will handle the play-by-play duties and Billy Rowse Jr. will do the color analysis. They are joined by pit reporter Todd Lewis. The season's first show will air on Saturday, June 12 at 2 p.m. ET with coverage of the season-opening event at Delaware (Ont.) Speedway, which is slated to run Saturday, June 5.
