Danny O'Brien Earns a Dramatic Win at Cornwall Speedway

Danny O’Brien has always had a lot of success racing at Cornwall Speedway over the years, and has won plenty of races, and championships at the track over the course of his career. Arguably none were more dramatic then his win this past weekend.

Sunday night at Cornwall was a great night for Danny O’Brien. Starting the 30-lap feature from the 11th position, O’Brien worked his way through the field. At the halfway point of the race, Danny had moved up to seventh, and just a few laps later he had jumped into the top five. A much needed caution came out on lap 23, bunching the field back up, and by this point O’Brien had advanced into third place, putting himself into contention for the final 7 lap run the checkered flag. Coming down for the checkered flag, O’Brien appeared to have a second place finish, until the race leader destroyed a tire on the final turn, handing the win to O’Brien.

“We have lost races in a similar fashion,” stated O’Brien from victory lane after his win. “It’s a tough way for them to lose a race, but we will take it. I want to thank all the crew for their hard work, and all of our sponsors.”

The next race tentatively scheduled for O’Brien and his Global Warranty Racing team will be next Sunday night at the Cornwall Motor Speedway.
