Kawartha Speedway announces make-up date for Late Model Summer Sizzler

When short track speedway promoters put together their yearly race schedule, they do so with the knowledge that weather could throw a monkey wrench into their best laid plans.  For 2010, Kawartha Speedway officials promised their drivers, teams and fans that they’d do everything possible to make-up any shows that may have been cancelled or delayed due to weather.  When this year’s edition of the NAPA Auto Parts ACT Late Model Summer Sizzler was rained-out Friday, July 9th, Promoter and General Manager Derek Lynch and his team went to work to find a new date for the popular event.

“It took a bit of time, a few phone calls and an e-mail or 2 but I’m happy to announce that we’ve finalized plans to make-up the 7th Annual show,” said Lynch.  “The $3,000.00 to win invitational race – to be run in three 50 lap segments – will now be scheduled for Friday, September 10th.  Other schedule revisions were required to make everything fit.”

Here’s a look at how everything has been arranged:

·        Friday, September 3rd (addition to the announced schedule)

NAPA Auto Parts ACT Late Models, Better Carpet Thunder Cars, Hasiuk Trailer and Container Rental Mini Stocks 50 lap invitational and Ontario Legends Series.  Gates open at 3:00, racing at 7:00.

·        Friday, September 10th (revised from announced schedule)

NAPA Auto Parts ACT Late Model Summer Sizzler 150, Better Carpet Thunder Cars, Hasiuk Trailer and Container Rental Mini Stocks and Ontario Pro Challenge Series.  Gates open at 2:00, racing at 6:00.
