THOROLD, ON - Today is Wednesday … hump day and to get racers through it – Hoosier Tire Canada announces it’s sponsorship via cash awards for heat winners and top finishers in all three divisions that will make up the first annual Bob St. Amand Sr. Memorial at Merrittville Speedway – Monday August 2nd.
“We’re real proud to sponsor the qualifying action,” relates Hoosier Tire Canada’s Ron McKay, adding “race fans are always in for some great racing come feature time at Merrittville … with some money on the line – the heat racing should be thrilling as well.”
The 358 Modified Super DIRTcar Series Heats will reward each winner with $100.00 courtesy of Hoosier Tire Canada while for the two other divisions – the top 3 finishers will share in some extra money.
For the Hoosier Stock Duel on the Dirt Big 6 Home Track Event and the Modified Lite Championship Tour stop for the J&S Heating and Air Conditioning sponsored division – Heat winners will receive $25.00 bonuses, runners up $20.00 and third place finishers $15.00.

When the Gates open at 4 PM Monday August 2nd - the Club Castropignano Pasta Dinner begins at 4 PM and runs until 6.
Race Fans and teams alike should get their Pasta Tickets in advance as on Race Day – Tickets are $12.
Adult Grandstand Tickets are $25 for Monday August 2nd, Students and Seniors - $23, Juniors from 8 to 12 are $10 and Children under 8 are free.

The inaugural Bob St. Amand Sr. Memorial 100 Big Block Modified Super DIRTcar Series Event Monday August 2nd is an event that Merrittville Speedway has hosted since 1972 – the year ‘Sr.’ won his Modified Points Championship. Since that first event – the stars of DIRTcar Modified racing have challenged Merrittville’s talented field of hometown heroes in the Canadian Civic Holiday Classic.
